Therastra - Cosmology/Mythology

Cosmology/Mythology

The Elemental Lords

The world of Therastra is the product of the Four Elemental Lords who in their realization of their mistakes resolved to save the inhabitants of the Old World and make a new one for them, under their careful supervision. Stories say that the Stone Mother persuaded the other Elemental Lords to join her in this endeavor, break free from the Unspoken Ones' control only to watch them fall at the hands of unknown deities from the Great Dark Beyond.

The Stone Mother found a suitable place in the Great Dark Beyond and a portion of her essence gave birth to the new world's shell, fueled by Ignis' furnace, Jaffar's storms and The Tide Hunter's waters. Just before the end thousands of people were taken from the Dying Old World, brought to the new one to start a new life.

By the time the survivors arrived the world was already blooming, a natural paradise fueled by the power of the elementals, but well on its way to becoming an independent world.

Then the Elementals began instructing the Mortal races on how to wield their power, giving birth to the first priesthood, dedicated to the Elemental Lords. Most survivors were greatful for being alive and soon using skills retained from the old world they began to rebuild.

The Elemental Lords described

The Stone Mother - The Elemental Lord of Earth, she was the one responsible for the idea of saving the mortal races from impending doom. While she is a stern, rigid deity to the mortals, she is not without love for them.
